About QMA
At Quest for Modern Art we are passionate about discovering forgotten and neglected pieces of important artwork. We are working to preserve the legacy of artists whose reputations faded with style changes in the art world but also with changes in their own lives.
Founded in 2009, Quest for Modern Art focuses on modern art, sculpture and fine photography. Our very first in discovery in 2009 was two pieces by an important 20th century artist by the name of Mino Argento. The discovery led to a great deal of research about this Italian modern painter. Our research on Argento has now been forwarded to the smithsonian Institute in order to ensure his legacy.
Other QMA finds include the American modern painter James “Jack” Boynton, Hans Gustav Burkhardt, Ivars Hirss, Phyllis Wiener. When possible we initiate a dialogue with the artist to continue the thread of historical information. We will post photographs of pieces as we explore them and eventually provide a format for others to post photographs of their personal art discoveries as well. We plan to create a platform at this site for discussion and research of artwork as it re-discovered by art lovers everywhere.
